Fleetwood Cadillac Models & History 1964

Thisline (series 6700) featured the same limousine type styling seen in 1963, combined with a new frontal treatment, angular taillamps and revised rear sheetmetal. The back fenders swept rearward in a straighter and higher line, while the fins began with a more pronounced kickup and housed new notch-shaped taillamp lenses.

I. D. NUMBERS

  • Motor serial numbers took the same form used in 1963
    • the first pair of symbols changed to “64” to indicate 1964 model year
    • the next symbol was a letter to indicate the model body type as listed below
    • the next six numbers indicated the consecutive unit number beginning with 000001
  • The serial number was located at the front of the lefthand frame side bar
  • Motor serial numbers were located on the left side of the engine block and lefthand frame side bar
  • The short-deck Park Avenue sedan, formerly coded with a “D,” was discontinued
