1961 Jaguar XK150 Drophead Coupe

In 1957, Jaguar unveiled the ultimate iteration of its renowned ‘XK’ series of sports cars: the XK150. Building upon the legacy of the XK120 and XK140, the XK150 maintained the familiar chassis, 3.4-liter engine, and four-speed Moss transmission. However, it introduced a wider body, enhancing interior space and visibility with a single-piece wrap-around windscreen, replacing the divided screen of its predecessor, the XK140.

Distinctive changes included a raised front wing line and a broader radiator grille. Yet, the most significant enhancement was the introduction of Dunlop disc brakes. Previously, the XK series faced issues with brake fade during repeated high-speed stops with drum brakes. With the XK150, this concern was addressed, delivering stopping power to match its impressive straight-line performance.

Continuing the tradition of its predecessors, the XK150 was available in various body styles, including the open two-seater, fixed-head coupe, and the adaptable drophead coupe, offering versatility and style.
