The V8 Vantage came into being back in 1977, and would go through various iterations during its life. In 1986, the car entered its fifth iteration and this was the first time that the top-of-the-range Vantage was, in fact, fitted with the 580 X engine, which makes it the ultimate version of the muscular V8 Vantage that would become known to enthusiasts as the ‘X-Pack.
