The Mustang GT Package was first introduced in 1965. This package was designed to change the Mustang from being a simple sporty car into a beast. The GT package or Grand Touring package transformed the Mustang in many ways and gave the driver better handling and performance in one neat package. As a result, the 1966 Ford Mustang GTs were very different from the regular Mustangs.
