Lexus Has Come Up With A Name For The New Electric Car

The novelty may become a serial embodiment of the Lexus LF-30 concept

Lexus has registered the RZ 450e trademark in the US, Europe, and Australia. The letter e at the end may mean the appearance in the line of the Japanese brand of the second serial electric car after the UX 300e, presented in November last year.

Another hint about the future model is given by the letter R: in the Lexus model range, it is contained in the names of the RX crossover and RC coupe. Perhaps the novelty will be a coupe-like electric crossover based on the Lexus LF-30 concept.

The unmanned Lexus LF-30 was unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show in October last year. The electric show car received a body length of more than five meters, an unusual exterior with giant air intakes and doors of the “gull-wing” type that open upwards. In the interior of the concept, several displays were installed, a panoramic roof, which also serves as a touchscreen, and a folding steering wheel – for convenience, it can be removed when the autopilot is on.

The Lexus LF-30 is powered by a 544-horsepower power plant with four motor-wheels, powered by a 110 kilowatt-hour battery. Depending on the settings, the drive can be full, front or rear. It takes 3.8 seconds to accelerate from zero to the first “hundred” LF-30, and the maximum speed is 200 kilometers per hour. The declared power reserve without recharging is 500 kilometers.

There is no other information about the electric novelty Lexus yet. Earlier it was reported that by 2025 Toyota and Lexus plan to release a total of 10 fundamentally new models with electric propulsion.

The first serial electric car of the Japanese brand UX 300e is equipped with a 204-horsepower engine mounted on the front axle. The 54.3-kilowatt-hour battery provides the crossover with 400 kilometers of travel on a single charge. The cost of the car is already known: in the UK it starts at £ 43,900.
