The 1992 Seville and Eldorado models were Cadillac’s first totally new offerings since the luxury automaker was reorganized in 1987 as an autonomous General Motors division.
While the reflnements and upgrades of the all-new Seville basically mirrored those of the Eldo, the overall appearance of each was kept distinct.
According to Cadillac’s exterior design studio, the Seville was nicknamed the “greyhound” because of its rounded, muscular look while the Eldo was nicknamed the “needle” because of its sharp razor edge styling and angular body lines.
The lineup was again comprised of a Seville sedan and Seville Touring sedan (STS).
The all-new Seville’s overall length of 203.9 inches was 13.1 inches longer than the previous year’s measure.
As with the Eldo the Seville’s electronic systems were streamlined.
A new simplified main computer, the instrument panel cluster eliminated the Body Control Module oftered previousy as well as integrating the Powentrain Control Module functions.
These Seville’s source of power was again the 4.9-liter V-8 mated to the 4T60-E electronically controlled four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive.
Appearance-wise, the Seville featured composite headlamps and wraparound parking, signal and cornering lamps.
A chrome-plated grille had light gray inserts.
In the rear, the center high-mounted stop lamp ran the entire length of the decklid.
Inside, interior volume was increased 6.5 cubic feet to 119.5 cubic feet.
The STS had a body-color grille that featured a pewter color wreath-and-crest emblem
