Cadillac Fleetwood Models & History 1974

FLEETWOOD BROUGHAM SERIES 60

The 1974 Fleetwood Sixty-Special Brougham came with all DeVille standard equipment plus Automatic Level Control; Dual Comfort front seat; front and rear reading lights; padded vinyl roof with chrome rear window moldings; carpeted foot rests and L78 x 15/B white sidewall tires of bias-belted construction. Fleetwood ornamentation, nameplates and round corner, four window roof styling were seen again. The Brougham d’Elegance option package was available again, including the same type of appointments outlined for the DeVille d’Elegance, but at nearly twice the price on the bigger car. Even more ostentatious was the Talisman group with

  • four-place seating in Medici crushed velour arm chair style seats
  • full length center consoles with writing set in front and rear vanity
  • reclining front passenger seat
  • assist straps
  • special Turbine wheel discs
  • seat back pockets
  • deep-pile carpeting floor mats
  • standup hood ornament and special rear roof pillar Fleetwood Talisman scripts.

Even more luxurious was a leather trim Talisman package, an option which cost only $100 less than a brand new 1974 four-cylinder Ford Pinto two-door sedan!

FLEETWOOD SEVENTY-FIVE

Standard equipment on 1974 models in the Fleetwood Seventy-Five line began at the DeVille level, plus

  • Automatic Level Control
  • carpeted foot rests
  • fixed ratio power steering
  • rear seat window defogger
  • Automatic Climate Control
  • trailering package
  • remote control righthand out side rear view mirror.

Black sidewall L78 x 15/D tires (optional on other Cadillacs) were used. Also found on all of the big Fleetwoods were new, gray and white bumper impact strips, which cost extra on other models. Series scripts appeared on the front fenders, behind the wheel housings, and “coach” windows appeared in the rear roof pillar. Twilight Sentinel was now featured on all 75s at regular prices.
