Cadillac  Calais Models & History  1969

CALAIS SERIES 682

Although its overall size and character was largely unchanged, the 1969 Cadillac was restyled in the Eldorado image. An Eldorado like front fender treatment evolved and helped to emphasize a stronger horizontal design line. Rear quarters were extended to give the car a longer look. There was also an all-new grille with dual horizontal headlamps positioned in the outboard, step-down areas of the grille. The hood was again extended, a total of 2-1/2 inches, to add to the impression of extra length. Calais models came with the following:

  • all GM safety features
  • the V-8
  • Turbo-Hydramatic
  • variable-ratio power steering
  • dual power brakes
  • power windows
  • center front arm rest
  • electric clock
  • two front cigarette lighters
  • twin front and rear ash trays
  • a complete set of interior and exterior courtesy, safety and warning lights
  • Mirror Group
  • concealed three-speed windshield washers and wipers
  • five 9.00 x 15-4PR black sidewall tires.

All regular Cadillac models had a new, squarer roof line and scluptured rear deck and bumper treatments.
