Cadillac Allante History 1992

Cadillac Allante Models & History 1992

  • For 1992, the Brougham sedan retained its distinction as America’s longest production vehicle, but was not subject to “gas guzzler” taxes in 1992.
  • Cadillac’s only rear-wheel drive sedan — again also available in d’Elegance trim (option code V4S)– was basically a carry-over from the previous year, except that Brougham’s appearance was improved by a new, more durabie base coat/clear coat paint process.
  • The 5.0-liter V-8 coupled to the Hydra-matic 4L60 four-speed automatlc transmission with overdrive remained as the standard powertrain.
  • The 5.7-liter V-8 was again optional equipment, but required when the trailer-towing, Coachbuilder, or Armoring options were ordered.
  • The Brougham again aiso was available with the Funeral Coach Package (option code B9Q) for attermarket conversion to funeral service.
  • In this configuration, only the 5.0-liter V-8 was offered.
