2014 CHEVY CAMARO ZL1 BACKGROUND
Chevrolet was on a roll with the 5th-gen Camaro. The 2014 Z28 had turned into a ripping track car. Now they were out to build the ultimate Camaro muscle car, one with more power than any Camaro the factory had ever produced. The ZL1 was the result. Chevy stuffed a supercharged 6.2L V8 from the Corvette into the 2014 Camaro (coupe or convertible), dialed it up to 580 horsepower and let ‘er rip! And it’s also a great track car, circling the Nurburgring in just 7:41.
2014 CHEVY CAMARO ZL1 BODY PACKAGE
To differentiate the mighty ZL1 from more pedestrian Camaros, Chevy added a very aggressive hood with louvers that actually work, extracting hot air from the engine bay. The entire front and rear facias are specific to the ZL1 as are the wheel/tire package. All the aero bits work. The hood creates downforce as does the front splitter. Air diverters around the front tires help defeat lift, and the larger rear spoiler adds 150-pounds of downforce at speed.
