1994 Ford Mustang

1994 FORD MUSTANG BACKGROUND
The ’94 Mustang was the first of the 4th-generation of Mustang, replacing the 1979 through 1993 3rd-gen Fox-body Mustang. The new car was loosely abed on some parts of the Fox-body platform, mostly in the floor, but was for the most part all-new. This new car was more aerodynamic and modern-looking, inside and out, with sweeping organic shapes replacing the boxy slab-sidedness of the old car. The new 4th-gen Mustang was also the first Mustang ever to be available in only two body styles. Gone was the hatchback. What remained was a coupe (with a conventional trunk), and a convertible. The 4th-generation is divided in two, with early cars 1994-1998 looking just like our subject car, and later cars 1999-2004 sporting a much more aggressive, angular look.

1994 FORD MUSTANG INTERIOR
The 4th-generation got a major upgrade in materials, bringing it into the modern age. Gone were the straight lines and sharp corners of the old Fox-body interior, replaced by gracefully-flowing, organic shapes that tied together the dash, door panels and console like one cohesive unit. Most interiors are done this way today, but back in 1994, it was revolutionary. Our sample car here, being a top-of-the-line Cobra, got all the best stuff including the premium leather interior.
