The 1972 Oldsmobile 442 W-30 was one of the last holdouts of the muscle-car era. In a rapidly changing world of Federal emission and safety standards, as well as hefty insurance surcharges for high-performance vehicles, the top-level performance Oldsmobile still had a lot to offer buyers still in the market. With an 8.5:1 compression ratio, high-performance aluminum intake and Rochester Quadrajet 4-barrel carburetor, the W-30 455 CI V-8 engine produced a peak of 300 HP with 410 lb-ft of torque.
