  1. I owned a 71 383 and I’m so sorry I sold it. I had it blue printed, added a dual point distributor and had everything done on a chassis dynonometer . Very rare in 1973 it took up the whole wall of the garage to do what can now be done with a hand held meter. It was fully manual, no PS, PB A/C or anything else. No power robbing accessories but a bear to park. Ate SS 396 Chevelles every time as well as 340 Dusters. Beat one Corvette but that was a 74 and had a weaker engine. Cruised comfortably with no engine strain at 110mph. No idea what the top end was.
