1968 Daimler DS420

Although it develops only 137 kW/186 hp from a displacement of 4.2 liters, the large Pullman limousine accelerates to a top speed of up to 180 kph (112 mph) thanks to a three-speed automatic transmission. However, this vehicle was never designed for speeding, but rather as a representative car for heads of government or royal houses. During the production period, not only Queen Elizabeth II and her family, but also King Frederik IX of Denmark and his daughter Queen Margeret II, Prince Rainier III of Monaco, King Hussein of Jordan, Grand Duke Jean of Luxembourg, Sultan Quabus ibn Sa’id Al Sa’id of Oman, King Yahya Petra Ibni Almarhum Ibrahim of Malaysia, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei and King Carl XVI Gustav of Sweden used this Daimler limousine. In fact, in addition to Great Britain, the royal families in Sweden, Denmark and Luxembourg still use the DS420 today.
