1965 Oldsmobile 442 muscle car
1965 Oldsmobile 442. Shuffling onto the burgeoning performance scene in mid-1964 with a “police package” that could be ordered on a four-door sedan was no recipe for muscle car success. Indeed, fewer than 3,000 buyers bought the original Oldsmobile Cutlass 4-4-2.

  1. I had a 65 Olds 442. It was an F-85 Club Coupe (of which they made fewer than 800, 2-dr. sedan. Most were Cutlasses. It had the Muncie 4spd. with Hurst shifter. Bench seats! It was black/black interior and no air. Had optional 3:55 gears. It was quite a bit faster than your average 442! Wish I still had it! Went through 3 clutches but it never had the heads off!
