This 1961 Buick LeSabre.  Fan submission from Andrew Demco.  Thanks Andrew.

History of the car written by Andrew: According to the previous owner’s family you are looking at an original 1961 Buick LeSabre survivor. They told me that their grandfather had bought the LeSabre brand new in Late 1960, when he started his plumbing business in Chicago just off Fullerton and Pulaski. Apparently he only used it to go back and forth checking on the progress at each of his job sites.

As his business grew he parked the Buick with 9,300 miles on it and bought himself a 1963 Lincoln rewarding himself. He then drove the Lincoln for around 8,600 miles then bought himself a Cadillac parking the Lincoln right next to the Buick in his heated warehouse then covering them both with a tarp. They both lay forgotten and undisturbed for close to 40 years until his death in late 2009 when they were both rediscovered. When I purchased the Buick from them the car only had 9,300 original miles on it.

The motor and transmission were pulled and gaskets and fluids were flushed and changed out. The car still has all of the original inspection stamps marking on the cowl and Firewall. It also has a one year only 1961 Buick exclusive color called Cordovan iridescent paint scheme containing flecks of aluminum it’s a rare 2 tone car featuring the Fawn beige painted top. The speedometer is called the magic mirror (reverse image) with adjustments to lower or raise the mirror image to suit the driver’s height pretty innovated for its time. The radio is in working order even though it has its original tubes. The car still has the original interior including the silver laced carpet from the factory (called Starlight) this is irreplaceable as no one makes this type of carpet anymore. You would have to search long and hard to find a more complete specimen from the 1960’s.
