1955 Chevrolet Bel Air. This was the year of the revolutionary 265 cu.-in. “small block” V8. Adding to the Bel Air’s great improved chassis and attractive exterior, the overhead-valve Turbo Fire produced 162 horsepower, or 180 with the “Power Package.” This is an old car that still stops shows on the regular.
55 and 56 Just love those models, the Nomads are Great to. Would like to own anyone of them.
I had one of these in classic red and white with white top back in 1964 and 65. 265 cu but not the power pack. Great ride, quiet and dependable. So dang sorry I sold it.

My first car , 2 door post 265 with overdrive 3 speed. The over drive trans equip BelAir I had came with a 4:11 rear axel standard. This thing screamed from a dead start and only max out in 1st gear to about 35 MPH, and top speed in 3rd gear was less then 95 MPH. I bought it in about 1959 and came in a Grey/orange factory paint. After a slight accident , the damage was repaired I had a friends Dad paint it in 1953 Buick Tesian (sic) Red . ( it was like candy
Red) I did all the sanding and masking and he charged me $10.00 ! I then had named it THE HIGH Whine der an had it lettered on both
Quarters in school bus yellow.
