This is the most famous Lagonda of all. Built for the factory-backed racing efforts of the Fox & Nichol team, the 1936 Lagonda LG45R Rapide sports racing two-seater that bears chassis number 12111 has amassed quite an impressive racing resume over nearly eight decades of use. Campaigned in-period at events such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the RAC Tourist Trophy races and the British Racing Drivers’ Club 500-Miles Classic at Brooklands, the Lagonda eventually became known by its registration number, EPE 97 (or simply EPE).
