1934 Citroën Traction Avant

The Citroën Traction Avant is an executive car produced from 1934 as a 4/2-door saloon, 5-door hatchback, 2-door convertible and 2-door pickup. Designed by Flaminio Bertoni and Andre Lefebvre was one of the first European mass-produced cars to have a front wheel drive. Other innovations featured a unibody construction and 4-wheel independent suspension even hydropneumatic suspension in the later models. Thanks to its popularity and the success, the Traction Avant was built until 1957 under model names 7CV, 11CV and 15CV which reflected French car tax classification.
