Cadogan Motors (1928) Ltd. built four-passenger fabric-paneled tourer bodies for five of the distinguished and potent Bentley 4½-Litres. This design was favored by touring-minded enthusiast owners because it offered slightly more spacious and comfortable rear compartments than the better-known Vanden Plas design.
The car being highlighted is the only survivor on its original 4½-Litre chassis. This desirable late-specification car, with a reinforced, stiffer frame, plate clutch, and updated self-wrapping front brakes, bears the number DS3570. It was dispatched to Cadogan on 22 July 1929 and is believed to have been used for a time as a demonstrator by the prominent London Bentley dealers Gaffikin Wilkinson.
